A Peak District GlamperRV Adventure
The Peak District, with its captivating landscapes and charming villages, is a perennial favourite for a GlamperRV adventure. Less than a three-hour drive north from our Buckinghamshire base, this region beckons with its rolling hills, hidden valleys, and rich history, promising an unforgettable escape. We hope you enjoy our Peak District GlamperRV adventure.
Your Peak District adventure begins at The Wheatsheaf, a traditional pub nestled in the charming village of Baslow. After your scenic drive, unwind in their warm and inviting atmosphere, savouring a delicious meal or a refreshing drink. The pub offers overnight parking for your GlamperRV, allowing you to rest comfortably under the Peak District sky.
A short stroll from The Wheatsheaf awaits the grandeur of Chatsworth House. Immerse yourself in the opulence of its historic rooms and explore the sprawling gardens, soaking in the beauty of this iconic landmark.
Night 2: Overnight by the River at The Grouse & Claret
The next day, you journey deeper into the heart of the Peak District, arriving at The Grouse & Claret, a delightful campsite nestled in the picturesque village of Rowsley. Request a pitch by the river, where the sound of flowing water provides a tranquil backdrop to your GlamperRV retreat.
In the evening, enjoy a hearty meal at the on-site pub, or if you’re seeking a truly exceptional culinary experience, venture across the road to The Peacock, a renowned restaurant boasting three AA rosettes.
Night 3: A Farm Stay at Beechcroft Farm
For a change of pace, your third day takes you to Beechcroft Farm, a working farm nestled in the rolling hills. Park your GlamperRV and explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike, taking in the picturesque views and fresh air. This site sits on the Pennine Bridleway linking onto the hugely popular Monsal Trail, a traffic free route through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales and finishes in Bakewell.
Night 4: Damn views at The Ladybower Inn
Your final stop takes you slightly further north, to The Ladybower Inn, a charming pub sat on the edge of the breathtaking Ladybower Reservoir. A village was flooded when the Ladybower reservoir was formed and if you visit after a dry spell in the summer look out for the church spire which can still be seen above the water.
The nearby Derwent Dam Visitor Centre offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s history and engineering marvels. Learn about the dam’s construction and its vital role in water management, gaining a deeper appreciation for the landscape you’re exploring.
