Site Spotlight – Martleaves Farm, Dorset
Dorset is a hugely popular county for GlamperRV adventures with customers uncovering some fabulous overnight spots. They range from a rustic cider farm nestled in the New Forest to the family favourite Avon Tyrrell Youth Activity Centre and of course our site spotlight this week which commands fabulous sea views from all its pitches.
Located on the stunning Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site just outside Portland and Weymouth, our #site spotlight Martleaves Farm is a firm favourite with many GlamperRV customers either en route to the South West or as part of a New Forest/South coast tour.
Martleaves is a working farm set in 34 acres of glorious countryside and is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) hence a haven for nature lovers and bird watchers. For animal lovers you will enjoy staying on a site alongside plenty of sheep, horses, Shetland ponies not to mention alpacas Kim, Barney & Angus.
A short walk or cycle (hire is readily available with Weymouth Bike Hire) from Martleaves Farm are a number of local eateries, the most highly recommended being the Crab House Cafe serving up the best shell fish on the south coast! The site also benefits from access onto the off-road Rodwell Trail which is the perfect route for visits into Weymouth.
You will never tire of activities as you stay adjacent to the world famous Chesil Beach with all the benefits of the rural countryside and the nearby seaside town of Weymouth and Portland, the site of the 2012 Olympics sailing competition. Perfect therefore for water sports, climbing on the cliffs or even indoors at The Hangout.
