Site Spotlight – Rutland Water
Following a two year event hiatus we are looking forward to exhibiting at the Southern Motorhome Show in Newbury next weekend. This show always signals the start of our summer and yet again the forecast looks glorious. If you are keen to view a GlamperRV in the flesh please do pop along – we will be there from 13-15th May and would love to meet you.
If you are looking to buy a used GlamperRV this year then keep your eyes on our website. Already listed is a very well cared for 2018 GlamperRV DBM model. Following a couple years on our fleet, a regular hire customer purchased it. They are #vanlife converts and have decided to upgrade this one to a sparkling 2022 version.
For those more content with hiring for now enjoy our latest site spotlight – Rutland Water. It was a delivery to the Rutland Water Sailing Club last weekend that reminded me what a fabulous location it is for a weekend GlamperRV adventure (or longer if combined with Norfolk).
Rutland, nestled in an area of rural countryside in the East Midlands, is packed with things to do. From exploring the stunning wildlife around Rutland Water, to visiting one of the many stately homes, such as Belvoir Castle and Burghley House or purchasing local produce in the ancient market towns of Oakham and Uppingham.
It is the wealth of local produce from the area’s rich agricultural land that impressed Michelin inspectors when they selected six hostelries in the region to make their ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ guide. Topping the list are The Olive Branch at Clipsham and The Marquess of Exeter in Lyddington.
Our site spotlight focuses on the stunning camping spot, Lyndon Top which overlooks Rutland Water. It is ideally placed if you are keen walkers, cyclists, golfers or water sports enthusiasts and what’s more a short taxi ride away from the above pubs if you fancy more than a BBQ for dinner!
If your bikes are stowed away in GlamperRV’s garage then you will want to get them out to enjoy the fabulous circular 17-mile cycle route from Oakham which goes around Rutland Water. It is mostly traffic-free on stone-surfaced paths with some sections on quiet tarmacked roads.
For golfers Rutland Water Golf Club is next door to Lyndon Top. With a challenging 18 hole Championship course and par 3 nine hole course it offers something for everyone.
If you are visiting during the summer months the water itself provides a host of opportunity. From the peace of a stand up paddleboard to the excitement of the UK’s largest aqua park there is something for everyone. Visit Rutland Water Park for further information.
Rutland Water is a place which beautifully combines action with fine dining – in my mind the perfect combo for a GlamperRV adventure. Go explore in style and comfort!
