As schools break up for half term it appears that holidays are firmly back on the agenda and our Site Spotlight – theme parks hopes to inspire.
I know many of you with school or pre-school aged children are on the look out for additional attractions for your GlamperRV adventure and that is why this week I am focusing our site spotlight on theme parks. From Peppa Pig World to Alton Towers, there is plenty of fun to be had for all ages.
Theme parks are well equipped for welcoming GlamperRV visitors with large, flat car parks. Some of the more forward thinking parks have even opened these car parks up to overnight motorhome stopovers but these are more prevalent on the Continent. Visit Disneyland Paris or Puy du Fou and you will find yourself parked in a fully serviced location almost adjacent to the park entrance.
For those with little ones and a visit to Peppa Pig or Dinosaur World on the agenda then Paultons Campsite, a family run site on the edge of the New Forest, is perfect. It is directly opposite the entrance to Paultons Theme Park, Peppa Pig World, Dinosaur World, The Lost Kingdom, Little Africa and the new Tornado Springs. Whilst in the area the Beaulieu National Motor Museum is also worth a visit, not to mention the delights of the New Forest which are well documented in previous blogs.
If your little ones prefer an attraction with real animals then they will love the Cotswold Wildlife Park, a popular family attraction with rhinos, zebras and leopards. It is located just across the road from the Burford Caravan Club Site. Whilst I appreciate these club sites are not to everyone’s taste I think those with young children will realise the value of having your hotel on wheels within easy reach when those tired legs are in need of re-charging!
For the older children and the young at heart then Alton Towers is probably one of the most popular theme parks. Located on the edge of the glorious Peak District National Park it makes a perfect location for a multi activity GlamperRV adventure. Stay at Lower Micklin Touring Park and you can avoid park parking fees and the monorail queue by making use of their daily bus service to the theme park, only a 10 minute ride away. Lower Micklin is a small, family run campsite just outside Alton in Staffordshire with 30 well spaced pitches and stunning views over the Churnet Valley.
For those venturing into France then please do read previous blogs on visiting both Disneyland Paris and Puy du Feu – both have excellent on-site facilities for GlamperRV parking. I have also recently heard of a customer planning a visit later this year to Efteling in the Netherlands – I am hoping they come back with a good overnight recommendation so that I can update this blog. With the Dutch keen campers and a quick look on Search for Sites showing 5 different campsites within the immediate vicinity, I don’t think they will have a problem!
School holidays are always a popular time for GlamperRV adventures and with the Easter bank holiday weekend falling mid April this year, it promises to bring with it some well needed sunshine. The very thought of it brings a smile to my face.
Happy planning!
