Summer Nights by the Sea
I hope that you are enjoying this glorious sunshine – gosh, don’t we deserve it! I am sure many of you are thinking of heading to the seaside this bank holiday weekend. The British coastline offers such a range of spectacular spots to overnight in a GlamperRV. There are some real gems dotted around, a few of which I’m delighted to share with you today in this blog – Summer Nights by the Sea.
Firstly let me share our latest availability – the odd cancellation means that we still have a few weekends available in July (including a recent cancellation for Latitude Festival) and the possibility of a longer trip in August. If you are thinking of what to do this summer then please do get in touch. Click here for latest availability.
One of our favourite places by the sea is the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. From exploring Cardiff in the East across to the Pembrokeshire National Park at the far end, there is so much to explore in this region.
Rhossili Bay beach is probably the most stunning of these and just a short walk (200 yards) from this beach lies Hillend Camping Park. Whilst a largish site with 250 pitches, they are rustically set over 14 acres of meadow land, all with easy access to the beach. There is a vibrant feel to this family orientated site and it has been listed as one of the top 10 U.K Campsites in both ‘The Times’ and ‘The Observer’.
For a night or two, you may wish to try a pub stopover at the Oxwich Bay Hotel. If you enjoy good food then this Brit Stops hotel is on the doorstep of Hywel Griffith’s Michelin star Beach House Restaurant.
If your vision of a GlamperRV experience involves total isolation, then head to North Somerset where Wild with Consent offer individual pitches at Parsonage Farm There will be no facilities here but then the GlamperRV is well suited to that. Everything (except A/C) works off gas & leisure batteries which are charged by solar panels.
Dorset is another favourite and whilst much of the coastline is packed with large touring parks, Martleaves Farm has been highly recommended by customers. If you book, ask for Pitch 29 – it is a large corner spot with uninterrupted views over Chesil Beach.
If you have a few more days then head either north or south west for some more stunning spots by the sea.
Northumberland will not disappoint. We have holidayed there in August and been the only ones on the enormous sandy beaches. There are many places to overnight with views out over the sea including the Barn at Beal and another Wild with Consent site at Elwick.
If you can travel midweek and beat the jams heading to the south west then last but certainly not least is Cornwall. A long drive for a weekend but if you do then head to Tintagel and the Trewethett Farm Campsite. To avoid disappointment we recommend you phone when booking to ensure a pitch with sea view. Another site known for its great pitches (although it is expensive) is Tristram Camping Park in Polzeath.
If your travel plans take you further north to Scotland then the list goes on, but that’s for another day!
Happy planning!
