I love the summer months down at GlamperRV HQ as flowers bloom in the meadows and the continual flow of excited customers fill the air with a buzz. I will never tire of the look on customers’ faces as they experience GlamperRV for the first time, realising that the real thing is every bit as good, if not better than the photos and I get to share with them how I am ‘living the dream!’
We’ve had customers taking GlamperRVs over to France, off to major sporting events and festivals and some simply seeking alternative accommodation for a wedding. Each one comes back with a story to tell but with a common theme – GlamperRV is a head turner and 100% luxury.
With so many customer suggestions to choose from I have struggled to pin down a topic for this month’s trip however with bookings full until mid-September I thought I would look forward to the fantastic opportunities of autumn road trips when the summer crowds have left.
Cornwall is looking set to win the GlamperRV location of the year and an autumn road trip promises a front window awash with rich autumnal colours, crashing waves, stately homes open but quiet and the narrow roads traffic free.
Padstow is a great favourite for GlamperRV customers with easy road access and thanks to Rick Stein, a great variety of eateries. Stay up at Dennis Cove where you can enjoy unbeatable views across the Camel Estuary, it is within walking distance of the town and situated on the Camel Trail for superb cycle rides through the ever changing landscape.
The stunning Cornish coastline makes for a great drive and with GlamperRV’s enormous wraparound windscreen you will have the best vantage point as you wind your way westward. On your route, you may like to stay a night at Mawgan Porth where you will find a very simple campsite a stone’s throw from the beach; The Miners Arms at Mithian, near Perranporth to enjoy another stunning beach or take in some culture at Tate St Ives, a spectacular modern gallery with sea views showcasing local and international artworks. The Inn & Lodge at Balnoon offers a good stopover for St Ives and is a good base to explore West Cornwall.
There is plenty to explore as you wind your way back along the South coast including a fabulous farm making a local ice cream where you can stayover, courtesy of Brit Stops, as well as a wide variety of pubs and campsites. We always recommend exploring Cool Camping’s options as they have a habit of selecting the best, boutique campsites around!
One of the highlights of the south coast is the Eden project and customers who have visited say it is well worth a visit. The closest village to the Eden project is Par which is nestled on the south coast. There are several pubs here who are members of Brit Stops and welcome GlamperRV stopovers, one being The Ship Inn which is a short walk from the beach.
With so many coves and villages to explore we know any GlamperRV adventures to Cornwall will be filled with fun and we look forward to hearing many more of our customers’ recommendations.
If you prefer a summer GlamperRV adventure please remember that bookings for Summer 2018 open on Sunday 10th September and from messages I have received I know they will book up fast!
